Hair is on woman's minds

By Joy Kraft

You have to have priorities. Women think about their hair as much as they think about sex — about 43 minutes a day, according to a nationwide survey for Salon Selectives by Yankelovich Partners of Chicago.

More than 100 women, 18-28, were interviewed by phone for the survey “conducted to gather information on issues and challenges facing women.” More findings:

        • In the car: 92 percent say they eat; 75 percent fix their hair; 72 percent talk on cell phones and 38 percent have sex.

        • One in five women , 20 percent, style their hair naked or in bra and panties.

        • One in three, 32 percent, think their hair is their sexiest feature.

        • Two in five, 40 percent, have changed their hairstyle to please their men.

        • Two in five wish they had someone else's hair.

        • One in 10, 10 percent, would give up their man, a great sex life, wealth or a perfect body for eternally perfect hair.

        • Julia Roberts has the best hair in Hollywood, according to 41 percent.

Salon Selectives makes ThermaSilk and Finesse and is a Helene Curtis brand owned by Unilever.
